The ways of nature, in benefitting, do not harm.

Ways of sages: action on constructs, do not contend.

Don’t elevate the outstanding:

Then your subjects will not contend.

Don’t value hard-to-get goods:

Then your subjects will not act as thieves.

Don’t display the desirable:

Then your subjects’ minds will not be muddled.

Using these: The way a sage maintains order:

Empties their minds,

Stuffs their guts,

Weakens their resolve,

And strengthen their bones.

He fixes on making his subjects lack both knowing and desiring.

Makes the wise not presume to act on constructs.

Act on the construct “lack acting on constructs”

Then nothing is ordered.

Change is a funny thing. Not everyone can handle it. It can sneak up on you. Things aren’t what they use to be. Your whole world is transformed. You realize the ground beneath you shifted. Things are uncertain and there is no turning back. The world around you is different now. Recognizable and there is nothing you can do about it. You’re stuck. The future is staring you in the face and you are not sure you like what you see.

I guess it’s that time again. Ha, time is truly a funny little thing. It doesn’t stop. It doesn’t stand still. It doesn’t wait. The Easter season is a time that will always be precious to me. My family loves this time. It is our favorite holiday. Christmas is great, no doubt, but Easter brings about new life and joy. As I journey through this Lenten season I want to continue to remember the joys and positives of this life. As much as I wish time would reverse and bring her back, I have to press forward and look for the realistic things in life. 

That moment when you learn to let go of the strife and small things is when you can see the happiness that is destined for you. Yes, you will get upset and annoyed from time to time but 90% of the time what you are upset about is something that small and simple. If it is someone that you are upset with, let them know, help them understand, make your point, and let it go. If you hold it in and stay upset you will stress yourself out. Would you rather be happy or stressed. We know the answers. Things go smoothly when you learn to be carefree when needed. When you learn to understand each other and see the others point of view your horizons are widened. Don’t you like to see clearly? Learn about people and new things. Let’s open our eyes, our hearts, and minds and live the life of happiness and joy. If that’s the life you wanna live, I will see you in that world. 

I hear so many people complain about bums/homeless people. How all they have to do is get a job. We all have jobs and we work for what we have so why shouldn’t they. Hey, it’s true. But are you really living that life? Are you going to work just to get the money? Are you working hard? Do you deserve it? Or are you just going through the motions? Do you put your all in everything you do or are you just looking for a handout, a check, an A in that class…… the easy way out? If you want things to come easy to you without putting the effort in or the time to call it your own, then you are like the bum walking down the street asking to pocket the $1.00 that YOU earned. 

We sit here today being the biggest hypocrites ever. We say our generation needs better role models and the shit on tv is horrible but if you live your life trying to skate through shit you are no better. It’s all about being better than you were the day before. Stop making the same mistakes, going down the same road. Man up and take all the responsibility for what you have in your life. 

By no means do I intend to wish “bad” on anyone but if don’t put in effort then you get whats coming to you. If you put in the effort and time you get whats coming to you. It’s pretty simple. Why slack on the shit that is important to you? And if the things you slack on aren’t that important to you because your priorities are all out of whack then don’t complain when the shit hits the fan. If the bum can’t always get a handout why should we?
